The scope of work included historic restoration of the stucco façade, repointing of the multi-wythe brick masonry, and restoration of the historic windows and doors. Additional waterproofing repairs were completed at mechanical penetrations and other building envelope transition points to improve the long-term performance of the structure. The work was performed for a high-profile law firm located in the heart of downtown Charleston while the building remained fully occupied throughout construction. Due to the tight urban site and historic nature of the property, KRC worked closely with the Board of Architectural Review and local permitting agencies to coordinate access, logistics, and execution of the repairs in a manner that minimized disruption to the occupants and surrounding properties. Through careful planning and coordination, the project was completed ahead of schedule and within the client's budget expectations.
