Finish materials at the southern drive-through were removed to expose framing damaged by a prior vehicular impact, revealing 10” steel bar joists and an approximately 16” steel beam supporting a brick veneer lintel. The beam exhibited minor rotation (up to 1/4” out of plumb), and adjacent brick showed slight inward displacement without significant cracking. KRC has corrected these conditions by installing web stiffeners and steel bracing at intervals not exceeding 4’-0” along the beam to stabilize the bottom flange and restore alignment. All repairs have been completed in accordance with the 2024 North Carolina State Building Code and AISC standards using 36 ksi steel and E-70 welding electrodes. Minor finish cracking may occur and is considered typical following structural repairs.
